    Theme 5 of C-SPIN seeks to develop novel architectural solutions that take advantage of the unique functionality that can be achieved using a spin-based technology.

    Spintronic systems have several unique properties, including inherent non-volatility, that can be uniquely exploited to achievable functional capabilities not obtainable in conventional systems.? The PIs in this theme will develop an improved understanding of the power and performance capabilities and limitations of spin-based computation and a achieve a deeper understanding of the powerful new computational paradigms that can be enabled by using spin technology
